Doug Nevin

Doug Nevin is a partner and head of theater/live events at Klaris, nationally recognized as one of the foremost theater lawyers in practice today.
Doug represents leading producers, renowned creative artists, premier service providers, and major cultural institutions. He has served as production counsel to nearly one hundred Broadway, Off-Broadway, West End, and touring productions, including multiple Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winners. His work spans the full lifecycle of live stage production—development, financing, rights acquisition, and global rollout—and extends to estates and legacy properties.
A prominent voice on theater law, Doug publishes widely, teaches CLE programs, and has appeared on multiple television networks and podcasts. He previously served as General Editor of the Matthew Bender Entertainment Industry Contracts treatise, published by LexisNexis.
As a theatrical producer, Doug is a two-time Tony Award nominee and Lucille Lortel Award winner. He is the co-founder of Pride Plays, a festival celebrating queer works and supporting the next generation of LGBTQIA+ artists and storytellers.
