Sam Borenzweig

Sam’s practice spans a wide range of commercial and intellectual property transactions. His clients include digital agencies, consumer brands, event and experiential studios, publishers, production companies, and individual creators. He leads the Creator Economy team at Klaris, helping brands, platforms, and creators cut through legal complexity to strike deals, secure rights, and build sustainable businesses across social, streaming, and other digital media.
In addition to broader commercial matters, Sam advises on copyright, fair use, privacy, and advertising and promotional issues. He negotiates licensing, sponsorship, product collaboration and brand partnership, live event, and digital media deals. He enjoys working closely with clients to navigate nuanced IP questions, empowering them to protect and leverage their creative assets in diverse contexts.
Sam also serves as production counsel for documentary film, television, and streaming projects, guiding clients from development through distribution. He conducts pre-publication review of print, digital, and audiovisual media.
Before joining Klaris, Sam advised early-stage companies on commercial agreements and formation matters in New York. During law school, he worked in the legal departments of Christie’s and Ziff Davis, participated in the Samuelson-Glushko Intellectual Property and Information Law Clinic, and received the Archibald M. Murray Award for Public Service for his pro bono IP work.
Born and raised in Manhattan and now a proud Brooklynite, Sam worked in film and television production before attending law school (ask him about Liam Neeson’s makeup mirror). He is admitted to practice in New York.
